Receptionist/ Administrative Assistant

The receptionist/administrative assistant is responsible for answering phones and welcoming all employees and guests to RHI. This person is the first point of contact for visitors to the center and supports them with inquiries. The receptionist/administrative assistant supports the full RHI staff, and especially the Operations team, in the daily functions of the office and has additional responsibilities at the discretion of the Office Manager and the Executive Director. He/She/They will also support the Executive Director and select members of the Leadership Team with calendar management and scheduling.

Education Specialist 2020

The Education Specialist will work closely with middle school and high school scholars who are participants in RHI’s academic programs. The Education Specialist will help participants navigate academic gaps as they work toward middle and high school graduations. This person provides individual and small group academic coaching to participants in core subjects: Mathematics, English, Social Studies, Living Environment, Global Studies and English. This person also supervises academic space dedicated to completing homework and other academic-related school projects.

RHI Program Youth Worker

The Youth Worker will assist in providing programs and services to young people in RHI’s youth programs. This person is also responsible for planning and executing excursions for school-aged participants (Middle school & High school). The Youth Worker is passionate about engaging youth and continuing to learn about youth development.

Public Safety Transformation Organizer

RHI seeks a compelling facilitating organizer who will inspire young adult residents to co-design and implement revitalized community safety efforts. Over a two-year period, the organizer will be tasked with building, training and supervising thirty dedicated, 18-24-year-old, Red Hook recruits working part-time. The young adult organizers will publicize their research on the lived experiences of Red Hook youth and young adult populations as well as a collaboratively reimagined approach to public safety. RHI seeks someone who comprehends that these organizers are personally affected by the political and social harms that impact the entire well-being of a community. Using a healing justice framework, the public safety transformation organizer will foster and embolden the untapped strengths of the part-time organizers. Working alongside RHI’s Education, Social Work, Young Adult and Community Building teams, the organizer will bolster the growth and leadership of Red Hook’s youth and young adult community to be advocates, activists and critical thinkers by outlining grassroots policy change strategies that influence local and City-Wide decision makers to transform public safety in their neighborhood.

Program Director of School-Aged Programs

The Program Director supports RHI’s youth development pipeline for our adolescent programs (6th – 12th grade) to achieve their goals within the areas of education, employment, health, and personal development. The Program Director will maintain a bird’s eye view overseeing RHI’s school-aged programs and services with a clear focus on retention, graduation, matriculation, for all participants in order to have a successful transition to college and/or to employment pathways. The program director will develop and lead youth programs with a strengths-based perspective.

College Retention Specialist

The College Retention Specialist supports young adults (18 to 24 years old) to achieve their educational goals beginning when they are in high school and are considering whether college is the right fit. Working closely with the Young Adult Program Manager, they develop, manage, and facilitate the College Scholars Program (CS) and provide educational advocacy. This position provides a creative, compassionate, persistent person with the opportunity to be a part of a strong network of critical support that helps Red Hook youth, many of whom are first-generation college students, focus on the path to a college graduation.

Deputy Director

RHI seeks a dynamic, dedicated individual as a Deputy Director (DD). Reporting to – and working closely as a partner with – the Executive Director (ED), the DD will be a seasoned leader and coach, with the ability to operate on strategic, managerial and hands-on levels and to help guide the organization across programmatic and administrative functions. This role is being created at RHI as part of the transition to support the organization’s new Executive Director.

The DD will bring proven nonprofit management expertise and experience in community-based programs, youth development, advocacy/organizing, finance, operations, and/or other relevant disciplines. The DD must have a keen attention to detail, the ability to delegate effectively, a proven track record in motivating and unifying teams, and have solid organizational, problem-solving, and clear decision-making skills. The DD will be comfortable with and committed to fostering the development of staff.

Director of Finance & Administration

The Director of Finance & Administration oversees RHI’s financial and administrative systems, including the contracting, compliance and billing associated with the organization’s public funding streams. This person partners closely with RHI’s out-of-house accountants to ensure information is readily available for the Executive Director and Board to analyze the organization’s financial health and long-term sustainability. This position offers the opportunity to help steer a widely respected CBO through continued periods of growth and to ensure the center’s day-to-day administration is efficient and effective.
