Program Offerings
The Red Hook Initiative (RHI) was created to channel positive momentum from community members to improve the quality of life for Red Hook's residents and the community at large. We work to confront and affect the consequences of intergenerational poverty by providing support in the areas of education, employment, health and community development. At RHI we believe that people can empower themselves to create their own social change. We provide residents of the Red Hook Houses with training and employment so in turn, they can create programs and provide support services to their neighbors, family, and friends.
Our Programs are:
Education
Employment
Health: Social & Emotional
Health: Physical

"There's no place like the Red Hook Initiative. It's awesome here. This is a place where you can relax and enjoy the people and have a great time. Everyone here gets along, and if they didn't it would be pretty hard to notice. Here everyone is family; well at least that's how we treat each other. People are respected as individuals with differences, and acknowledged as human beings with meaning."
